Winter Park FL Tax Preparation Filed Remotely by Local Firm
Updated September 26, 2026
Across the county line from Longwood
Winter Park is known for Rollins College and Park Avenue. It is also in Orange County, while our office, at 2941 W State Rd 434, Suite 100, is in Longwood in Seminole County. For income tax purposes that line does not matter. For property tax it does, because Orange County has its own property appraiser and tax collector.
People connected to a college, whether they study, teach or work there, often have a mix of tax paperwork that a simple return does not cover. We will not guess at who you are. Here is what we can offer whatever your situation.
Return types, from a single form to a busy year
- An employee with one W-2 can file a simple return starting at $99.
- A household with dependents files a family return starting at $299.
- Someone with freelance, consulting or business income files a self-employed return starting at $299.
- A property owner who rents a unit adds $125 for the first property and $60 for each additional one.
All of these begin with the same short intake. Prices are starting points, and the final quote includes any e-file and processing fees.
Orange County property tax dates
The Orange County Tax Collector says bills are mailed by November 1. The full amount is due by March 31, and taxes become delinquent April 1. Early payment discounts are 4 percent in November, 3 percent in December, 2 percent in January and 1 percent in February. The office also offers an installment payment plan and a help line at (407) 434-0312. It notes that its offices are open to Orange County residents only.
For homestead, you file with the Orange County Property Appraiser. Florida law sets the deadline at March 1, and state guidance says the exemption can lower taxable value by as much as $50,000 for a permanent residence. Confirm current steps with that office.
If you run a business in Winter Park
The Orange County Tax Collector lists business tax receipts among its services, for both new and renewal receipts, through its BTExpress portal. Under Florida law, receipts expire September 30 and renewals are due by then, so mark your calendar early. Your city may have its own rules, and you should check with it for your specific business type.
For the tax return side, our self-employed page shows what we prepare.
How the filing works
You never need to travel from Park Avenue or campus to Longwood. Begin at the start page. We reply with a free quote. You upload your documents securely, and we prepare your draft. You read it, ask questions, and sign electronically. Then we e-file.
Our preparers hold PTINs and prepare returns only. We are not a CPA firm, and we do not represent anyone before the IRS.
What happens after you sign
Once you approve the draft and sign electronically, we transmit your return. You will get confirmation from us, and we suggest saving a complete copy of the return with your records. If your return includes a balance due, we will tell you the amount so you can plan the payment, and if you are owed money, you choose how to receive it.
If you later notice a missing form, tell us. If a letter shows up from a tax agency, do not ignore it. We can explain what kind of notice it seems to be in general terms, but for a response or representation you would need a qualified professional who handles that work.
Spring is not the only good time
You do not have to wait for the deadline season to talk with us. Ask about your situation in the fall, when a new job, a move or a new rental is fresh in your mind. Notes made then are far more accurate than memories reconstructed months later.
What to gather
- ID and Social Security numbers for everyone on the return.
- W-2s, plus any forms for scholarships, stipends or fellowships if you received them.
- 1099 forms for freelance or contract work.
- Your property tax bill and mortgage interest statement, if you own.
- Records of any rental income and expenses.
- Last year's return.
Winter Park clients can also send questions ahead of the intake.
We reply in plain words.
A real preparer reviews and signs your return. You see the free quote before we start.
